Decision Making in Leadership...

The success of every leadership is based on the quality of decisions that are made. The responsibility of every leader is to take decisions that affect not only him but those he is leading. The quality of decisions you take, as a leader, determines the level of the success you attain with your followers. Effective decisions produce effective results.

There are four things you need to do to make the right decisions at all times. These four basic methods of effective decision-making can be summarized as: OODA
O---Observation. Observation is the gathering of every information that you require to make the right decision. Observation involves reflection. You must be able to reflect on the decisions you made in the past and the results you got. Observation helps you make adjustments where necessary.
O---Orient. To orient is to draw a conclusion based on the effects that are apparent. Orient yourself by observing all the information that you have. What do the information say to you?
D---Decide. Observing a situation and orienting yourself with it helps you decide on the path to follow. Every decision has its consequences. Whether you decide to do a thing or not you have made a decision.
A---Action. Every decision is as good as it is acted upon. Making a decision and not acting on it is more like not making it at all. When you observe, orient, decide, and act on the decision you make success is sure to follow.
